Inspection of enterprises of food safety and quality of products according to the principles of the HACCP system

On September 20, 2016, in Ukraine all food market operators must implement the HACCP prerequisite program for the next 3 years.

At the same time, the moratorium on business inspections ended on December 31, 2018, and the deadline for implementing the requirements of the legislation is September 20, 2019.

Control over compliance with the legislation is entrusted to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (State Food and Consumer Service).

In case of violations during scheduled or unscheduled inspections, state inspectors have the right to:

1. To issue the "Order for elimination of violations" with the list of violations and requirements with terms of their elimination;
2. Impose a fine (from 25 to 100 thousand UAH);
3. Temporarily or completely stop the operation of the enterprise;
4. Increase the frequency of inspections and audits by changing the risk category of the enterprise.
